SVGA DIY

FAQ

Straight answers about how SVGA DIY behaves in real projects.

Do I need an account?

No. There is no signup flow—open the editor and load files from disk like any other desktop tool.

Where do my files go?

They stay in your browser session. We do not host your SVGA, PNG, or video uploads on a backend; export saves straight to your Downloads folder (or whichever location your browser uses).

Can I use it on a phone?

Not really. The UI targets desktop widths and pointer precision. Mobile browsers hit a guard screen on purpose so nobody assumes touch targets that are not there yet.

What is SVGA, in one sentence?

SVGA is a compact animation format—think vector timing plus raster sprites—that many live gifting and effects SDKs already know how to play.

Why does video import insist on a template first?

The template defines how many frames you need and the stage size. Without that anchor, generated PNG strips could drift from what your SVGA player expects.

Which video formats work?

MP4, MOV, WEBM, and M4V files that the browser can decode. If the file plays in a normal tab, it usually works here; if not, re-encode before importing.

Do layer groups change the exported file?

Groups are an editor-only organizing tool. Export still emits the linear sprite order SVGA requires—groups simply keep the panel readable while you work.

Is undo/redo reliable?

Yes. Actions flow through the same history stack the rest of the workspace uses, so you can back out of a bad replace or property tweak without starting over.
